 One opportunity is given by the availability of new data collecting during EMP implementation. Several threats are also identified. Firstly many long time series of data will stop as consequence of implementation of management measures (in particular fishery closure).  Secondly, the member states are in charge to select a model rather than an other and there is a risk of political pressure to refuse models results. Thirdly there are so many specific cases in Europe that makes difficult the development of a single methodology.[[BR]]
