ANDALOSIE: a single pass by generalist electrofishing (maintaining a constant electrode sweep and catching all species).
BASQUE COUNTRY: everything that can be caught and the specimens of all species are quantified.
GIPUZKOA: multi-species (1 - 3 pass) or eel specific (1 - 3 pass). Information available in excel "DF_GIPUZKOA FISH DATABASE_12_11_2018"
CATALOGNE: generalist electrofishing, with a single pass. Eels may be underestimated because of the fishing time (when applying current) and the difficulty in catching them if all species must be collected. Fishing was carried out by different groups (4) and they carried out a comparative study of the efficiency seeing that the abundance could change according to the team of people, but not the richness (DOI: 10.1016/j.fishres.2011.11.022)
PORTUGAL: all sampling was conducted for all species, except for the ones whose source is Domingos et al (Identifier 50-69)
- Domingos et al – Bank fishing (devoted to the eel exclusively)
- The other – the entire river section (by foot for wadeable rivers and by boat for non-wadeable rivers) (For all species)
(excel Anguillaanguilla_datacollectionFCUL_Portugal_Review_06_2020 - sent to MMAteo)
MINHO: Carlos Antunes' information is missing.
